I chose this article because I had seen the confusing advert before seeing the article, and found it quite funny as it does seem random and confusing. To see the controversial advert click here
In this advert as each of the employees/customers introduce themselves, the also reveal their sexuality. I think this advert has made such a big impact because of how irrelevant this extra information is. It all seems very forced and is generally poorly executed. However this was most likely done on purpose, as the now viral video is successfully spreading Robert Dyas' abstract Christmas message.
The story mainly follows the public's reaction to the advert, which again is great publicity for the store. The general consensus was one of praise and bewilderment. I personally think it is a clever way for Robert Dyas to show their diversity in a light-hearted yet funny way.
